Rally: Holodomor Remembrance Day – November 26, 2023

Did you know that millions of people died of starvation during the Holodomor in 1932-33? Did you know why? The Holodomor was a man-made famine-genocide that occurred in Soviet Ukraine, orchestrated by Joseph Stalin’s regime. From 1932 to 1933, millions of Ukrainians perished due to mass starvation caused by forced collectivization and the confiscation of grain by the Soviet authorities. The deliberate policies of the government led to unimaginable suffering, making the Holodomor one of the darkest periods in Ukrainian history. While it is challenging to provide an exact figure, conservative estimates suggest that several million people died during the Holodomor. The numbers are often in the range from 3 to 7 million or more deaths.

The Holodomor Remembrance Day is observed on the fourth Saturday of November each year. We will too, hold a rally on Sunday, November 26th, at 2pm, on Churchill Square. There will be a demonstration dedicated to commemorate the innocent lives lost during the Holodomor.

Please join us to honour the memory of the millions of Ukrainians who have lost their lives, as well as those who endured and survived these incredible hardships, and to help us raise awareness about this historical tragedy. We have no right to stay silent about the genocide of Ukrainians, which continues to be carried out by Russia even today.

The world must know, the world must remember, and Ukraine needs support in its fight against the terrorist state now more than ever.

Hope to see you at the rally! The more of us, the stronger we are!

Glory to Ukraine!
